Bright Newt came into existence in 2009 when Austin L. Church, the founder and chief goofball, got laid off from a marketing firm, thanks to the recession, and was propelled rather forcibly into the realm of self-employment and entrepreneurship.
This has turned out to be a really good thing.
Three years later, Bright Newt represents a confederacy of creative professionals with different, if complimentary, skillsets and a similar way of thinking about branding, business, and relationships. Organizations need transition from the old habitat of traditional marketing and one-way messages to the new habitat of conversation, internet marketing, and social media. The smart amphibians who learn how to thrive in both habitats earn the title of “Bright Newt.”
2012 will be a big year. The business focus has grown from creative copywriting, marketing strategy, branding, SEO, and social media consulting to include mobile app development. Mustache Bash is Bright Newt’s first app, and will be available on April 6, 2012. Many more quirky camera and entertainment apps are in the works.
